Since Russia’s cyber-attacks on the former Soviet state of Estonia in 2007, government analysts and security researchers have kept watch on Russian cyber-operations. In 2013, security firm Kaspersky Lab detailed a five-year operation, attributed to Russia and known as Red October. In 2014, three other major operations came to light—Uroburos, Energetic Bear and APT28—

For each espionage operation, Recorded Future collected the names by which the campaigns were identified, the names of the tools used in each attack and how the attacks were delivered.

Even a simple issue such as the name of an operation is made more complex because security firms typically label each operation differently. For example, Energetic Bear, a named coined by security services firm Crowdstrike, is known as Crouching Yeti by Kaspersky, Koala Team by iSight Partners, and Dragonfly by Symantec. The sheer variety of names used for each operation has complicated analyses, Ahlberg said.

While the Koala happened or started back in 2009, Q is bringing it to our attention for some reason right now. “Koala” is in the kill boxes, and so therefore has been eradicated we can assume, and indeed the link I posted seems to confirm that. Koala shut down a bad sex trafficking operation, apparently.

iSIGHT Partners acquired by FireEye......

WAIT - WHAT?

Acquired by
FireEye

Jan 20, 2016

$200M

OK - who is FireEye?

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/FireEye

“FireEye, Inc. is a publicly listed enterprise cybersecurity company that provides products and services to protect against advanced cyber threats, such as advanced persistent threats and spear phishing. Founded in 2004, the company is headquartered in Milpitas, California.”

“USAToday says FireEye “has been called in to investigate high-profile attacks against Target, JP Morgan Chase, Sony Pictures, Anthem and others”. Yahoo Finance says FireEye is again the fastest-growing cyber security firm, according to Deloitte....”

Hmmmmmm... I wonder if Q was talking about “Phishing” in recent drops about “Fishing”?

Well well well. Look at this…. What have we here???? PAKISTAN???

“In 2004, Ashar Aziz, a Pakistani American, founded FireEye with venture capital provided by Sequoia Capital.

In June 2012, former CEO and President of McAfee, Dave DeWalt, joined FireEye as chairman. DeWalt was appointed CEO in November 2012...”

So here we have an Operation Koala which reportedly cleaned up a sex trafficking operation with a lot of participants…. One of the participants was iSight, which was acquired by a company, FireEye, founded in 2004 by a Pakastani American, Ashar Aziz, who founded FireEye with venture capital provided by Sequoia Capital.

It tracks cyber crime, and had been brought aboard to report on the Obama / Xi Jinping agreement that neither government would “conduct or knowingly support cyber-enabled theft of intellectual property” for an economic advantage.”

Its CEO is the McAfee guy, Dave DeWalt, who joined FireEye as chairman. DeWalt was appointed CEO in November 2012.

Mid 2014 they reported:
“… there was an overall decrease in successful network compromises by China-based groups against organizations in the U.S. and 25 other countries….”

LOL! Maybe for 10 about minutes! We have learned from POTUS DJT in recent days that China has never really stopped that activity.

We are told that Aziz used backing from Sequoia Capital to start FireEye.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sequoia_Capital

“Sequoia Capital is an American venture capital firm.[1] The firm is located in Menlo Park, California and mainly focuses on the technology industry. It has backed companies that now control $1.4 trillion of the combined stock market value. Sequoia manages multiple investment funds including funds specific to India, Israel, and China. “

Let’s see now. It “manages multiple investment funds including funds specific to India, Israel, and China “

Not much of a conflict of interest there, is there? It funds a start up company whose purpose is to provide cyber security for American companies, and even in some cases, the US government….. and it “manages multiple investment funds including funds specific to India, Israel, and China”…..

Am I seeing fox in chicken house here - or at least a suggestion of it? You decide:

Reading further in the Sequoia Wiki page:

“Sequoia was founded by Don Valentine in 1972 in Menlo Park, California. In the mid-1990s, Valentine gave control of the company to Doug Leone and Michael Moritz. In 1999, Sequoia expanded its operations to Israel. Sequoia Capital China was established in 2005 as an affiliate to the U.S. firm. In 2006, Sequoia Capital acquired Westbridge Capital Partners, an Indian venture capital firm. It later was renamed Sequoia Capital India. CB Insights recognized Sequoia Capital as the number one venture capital firm in 2013. The U.S. firm had 11 partners as of 2016….”

SNIP

“Sequoia Capital has invested in over 250 companies since 1972, including Apple, Google, Oracle, PayPal, Stripe, YouTube, Instagram, Yahoo! and WhatsApp. The combined current public market value for these companies is over $1.4 trillion, equivalent to 22 percent of Nasdaq. Its portfolio is mainly in financial services, healthcare, outsourcing, and technology.[ As of 2017, they have exited in 68 initial public offerings and 203 acquisitions.”

I’m not sure at this point where this takes us, or its relevance to the Operation [KOALA] referred to by Q, but that was one of the data streams which was there to follow.

If iSight/FireEye participated in the Operation Koala, and indeed helped in the vanquishing of the pedophiles/ perverts maybe they have earned some good karma, as some would say! However, the funding mechanism for this particular Koala participant makes me wonder where this is all going. Perhaps the anons and FReeQs will be able to sort this out better as we study it more.
