People become emotionally attached to the idea that they were right, that they were never wrong, and as a consequence they double down.

I see that too and it destroys all ability to reason. A good example is the global warming baloney. Even as our winters get longer, colder and snowier, the global warming crowd are doubling down and even trying to insinuate that the colder weather is a result of global warming!

I am convinced that I will never convince them otherwise. Even as most of New England is buried in snow a week before Thanksgiving where before, it typically did not snow in earnest until after Christmas.

It’s something that has been notably at work since Billy boy got elected. When certain notable media types decided to simply circle the wagons around him in order to prevent Bush from being reelected they arguably thought they were avoiding torpedoing another Gary Hart ... but they soon discovered Bill and Hillary came with much more baggage than Hart ever did but by then the Clintons’ owned their sorry asses.

In the meantime the rest of the media realized from their example that they could be more than just nakedly biased, they could be nakedly partisan and get away with it.

All of these, so many who ever voted for Clinton and bought into Hillary being the smartest woman ever, and all of those that they mentored, are all invested in them never having been wrong in the first place. And so they weren’t and aren’t ... just ask them.

In the meantime it’s left them open to be pulled along by every far Left manipulation to come along. They pulled up their proverbial anchors because anchors in your character and credulity could result in having to admit mistakes were made, they were then often convinced to throw those anchors overboard.

Now many just float along thinking whatever they’re doing or supporting is progress and whatever else is trading to haul them back to the darkness ... but if the Leftist tides drew them to the real darkness, as it is doing, they’ll blissfully go hence.

Those who once would have been horrified by the likes of AntiFa or the Muslim Brotherhood are now the tall grass these comfortably hide in and “tomorrow” may be trying on black uniforms and taking tMotB, totally reassured that they’re the good people, the kind people, the tolerant people.
