Well, I'm neither a lawyer nor a legal analyst, but in plain English; despite the fact that the document is riddled with the term “foreign” and deals with the potential that an outside government may attempt to influence any US election.....the EO appears to have unleashed a huge can of whoop ass, namely the Director of National Intelligence, and “other appropriate executive departments” to scrutinize and evaluate this past election regarding any foreign interference.
Although they may be searching harder than they ever have in history, the feds may or may not find any evidence of foreign interference activity, but I have no doubt they will find massive election “anomalies” in many states.
It is very likely that these “irregularities” will be documented, and deeply analyzed before it is determined whether or not are “foreign” in nature.
What happens to these files, are they destroyed, passed along to the relevant authority (DOJ), maybe given directly to the President?
Can’t “foreign influence” also cover “foreign nationals voting”?
Hopefully, they are referred to DOJ for criminal prosecution.
I read a report-think it came from the Commissions regarding the 2016 election for approximately 22 jurisdictions. The finding was that there was no effective foreign actions, but it did note other parties that did impact the elections and IIRC, included some examples of what was done.
So I think the DHS knew what to be watching for, and within 45 days from the election, they have to submit a report on the 2018 election. That date is 12/21 by my calculation.
Trump has already tweeted that Arizona must have a new election. Q said to watch CA, so maybe it’s not over there either.
