Amazon reviews have too many 1-star and 2-star reviews citing taste and smell. Multiple references to “burnt rubber” and “used motor oil”.

^Sauce^ is Scoville rated at 9,000.
Raw jalapeno is 14,000 ScU
IMO, jalapeno is the weakest of the caliente family.

Think I’ll pass.

Have never seen the black. Do see the green and red once in a while in the Mexamerican restaurants. The places where the #1 lunch special is always the “Speedy Gonzales”.

If I happen to see a bottle of black I’ll get it to try it. Not going out of my way for it.

Sounds like Manual Transmission has been cooking some sauce off behind the shop. Saves disposal fees on used oil and worn out tires.

Maybe Amazon had an associated seller selling fakes? TBD

When using pepper the thing to remember is balancing taste vs. heat. When you want more pepper flavor, use a (relatively) mild pepper like the ever popular jalapeno, and user more of it. When you want less pepper flavor but still want the equivalent heat, use the habanero or the scotch bonnet and use less of it.
