Well that’s obvious, I wonder how come they didn’t have the brains to figure that out?

Under which administration did the US start outsourcing military parts?

I have a feeling it started under the Clinton Administration. After all it was under the Clintons that the Chinese received the technology to allow them to develop nuclear missiles capability.

May 11, 1999

“The Clinton Administration notified Congress today that it had approved the export of technology to China to permit the launching of a communications satellite aboard a Chinese rocket next month.

President Clinton said in a letter to Congress that the transfer would not harm national security or significantly improve China’s military capability in space. The President was required under a 1998 law to certify that all such technology exports are in the national interest.”

Yes, I know Clinton did that. However, I never heard that he ordered them to use foreign suppliers for any parts. So the decision on what to order from whoever is on the DOD.
