Im pretty certain Ive seen elsewhere that it is the same wavelength and technology as 5G.

Google tells me that 5G uses two frequency bands — one around 3.5 GHz and one around 26 GHz.
The Active Denial (”heat ray”) system uses frequencies around 95 GHz. This is sub-infrared, since the infrared range is from 300 GHz to 400 THz.
Hence, the heat ray uses a frequency somewhere between 5G and infrared.
