Our USN was testing lasers for ship-board deployment several years ago, for really big targets.

For more than 10 or 15 years, there have been videos on youtube and other sites showing how to turn the laser from a read-write CD or DVD player into a small laser. Kids were burning up stuff across a room.

With magnifying lens, and a little power boost, such a laser could be mounted on a toy drone, and sent to start fires … just about anywhere.

Don’t need a laser on a drone, just an accelerant and an electronic igniter...

Or you could modify an electronic cigarette to self destruct, or a lithium ion battery set to short out after beibng fully or overcharged

But with the laser it would leave virtually no evidence at all behind...

And the bad news just keeps on coming. Really bad to think that any ole half intelligent person could make one. Terrorists galore in all 50 states.
