Cruz is not a likeable guy, does not have a good speaking voice and people have not forgotten things he did/said when running for Prez.
I thought his commercials were weak.
Cruz also received 400K fewer votes than fellow Republican Gov Greg Abbott.

AG Sessions was a misdirection element in the plan. With Sessions being in place and with his recusal, the Dems felt safe. That is why the Dems are now screaming to high heaven to have Acting AG Whitaker recused. SC Mueller now has no teeth and it sounds like [RR] will be resigning now also.

In a letter sent to colleagues in the House of Representatives, Cheney championed revamped Republican messaging, a developed ground game, and a switch to the offensive in the face of attacks from Democrats. Cheney is challenging Rep. Cathy McMorris Rodgers (R., Wash.) for the position. McMorris Rodgers won reelection last night, defeating Democrat Lisa Brown.
The Wyoming Republican is former Vice President Dick Cheney’s eldest daughter and a former State Department official.

The Committee on the Judiciary ordinarily has jurisdiction over impeachments, but special committees investigated charges before the Judiciary Committee was created in 1813.
The committee then chooses whether to pursue articles of impeachment against the accused official and report them to the full House. If the articles are adopted (by simple majority vote), the House appoints Members by resolution to manage the ensuing Senate trial on its behalf.
