I don't believe in this device but it might be interesting to know why it appears to work in defiance of known physics.

In the spirit of defying physics and people WANTING to BELIEVE, whatever happened to the "Energy Catalyzer" (the "E-Cat"), Andrea Rossi's claimed cold fusion reactor? It was all the rage for a few years, then quietly disappeared.

The "Impossible Space Drive," the E-Cat, and "Q." All birds of a feather.

Easy peasy. It's creating dark matter and using that to generate its thrust. Just because its reaction mass is invisible and undetectable doesn't mean it doesn't exist. Dark matter/energy are the answers to all sorts of conundrums these days.

Not really. Standing waves of microwave radiation. It defies NEWTONIAN physics, but that’s just a close approximation of actual physics in low-energy domains. . .

The problem with "known physics" is that it is incomplete and loaded with paradoxes and issues at both theoretical and practical levels. These keep the world's physicists busy.

The most plausible explanation for the EM Drive so far is that it generates Unruh radiation as the motive force. If true, it will establish the device as credible and worthy of investment backing and scientific effort.

Major improvements in efficiency should then be possible, spurred by competition between the major aerospace companies and nations. Attention will also be devoted to nuclear power as a way to generate the electricity to power EM Drive engines.

In the modern era, major economic advances require innovations in science and technology. Maybe the EM Drive and cheap, reliable nuclear power will basis for a new age of prosperity and material advances.
