Because the democrats never actually believed in the end of slavery.

They just exchanged the cotton plantation for the democrat plantation.

If a black escapes from the latter he/she gets pretty much the same whuppin’, he/she got when escaping the former.

The lynchings are just high-tech now.

For quite a few seasons, the GOP was considered the champion of American Negros. Then some kerfuffle happened where the GOP stumbled on something, and simultaneously the Democrats came up with the idea of welfare bribery.

Shazam... golden shackles for American Negros. Shackles into an immoral life, to boot... no virtue was being asked of the American Negros.

Now this didn’t happen in a vacuum. Christian faith was getting weaker and weaker by the decade. Government welfare is a poor second to the famed private charity of Christianity, being prone to political venality as it is.

A gospel revolution is the only thing that can truly reverse this. I hope (and pray, though less than I ought) for such a gospel revolution. It won’t just or even foremost address civic problems. It will address soul problems which are expressing themselves in civic problems.
