Trump has already called up roughly 1000 National Guard troops, who are unarmed and under the authority of their governor, and adding about as many military troops to that number. They will be constructing fencing in some places, using helicopters for spotting and managing food and medical in the field.
Homeland Security Director Nelson says many other things are planned and “Nothing is off the table”.
They-are-not-coming-in is the general theme, we’re hearing.

I am still puzzled about NG ( or any troop) being unarmed. It puts them in harms way, unable to defend themselves if needed.
Are they unarmed for PC/optics?
