I hiked on the AT from Fontana Dam to I-40. It’s about 79 miles...I did it in 4 days (all the way through the Smokies)....I was younger and in great shape then...

and if you had kept going you would have finished 2,000 miles in about 3 months...not 2 weeks...

I did the Shenandoah leg of the AT back in 2011 with a couple friends from the old neighborhood. We did 76 miles in 8 days, but we were 60 at the time. Not too bad for three old fogies humping 55 pounds each on our backs.
