One of Trump's greatest assets is that he spent 30 years on the media hotplate in New York where he learned to (1) love being the topic (2) not care if they bashed him relentlessly as long as they were talking about him and (3) play the media like puppets. He has carried that forward and it has served him ridiculously well.

Nobody could have survived the Access Hollywood tape. Trump said "Okay, let's talk about bad language I once used and while we're at it let's talk about Bill Clinton raping three women who are sitting right over there". Oops, they didn't expect that! He survived that attack against all odds because he's a boss!

Elizabeth Warren is no Trump. She made a dopey press release that was supposed to stop Trump from mocking her. Trump mocked her for it and now everyone else in America is too. Unlike Trump, she has no instincts for how to control the narrative and steer it in a direction that is positive for her or at least not looking at her negatives. She's just hiding now. Once again, Trump takes a suppsed victory away from an emeny and makes it his own win.

Just my opinion, but I think Trump already had access to her DNA before he started challenging her - media thinks he goes off half-cocked, but the reality is he always seems to know the outcome of everything he says, before he says it. That’s what has the media’s panties in a bunch, he’s thinking 10 steps ahead of them. It’s not just this instance, but if you think back on what the outcome was to what seemed to be outlandish statements at the time.
