I run across black bears a couple time a year in Wisconsin . Every time they run away or up a tree.

"A black bear, unless it is a sow with cubs —and you get between her and her cubs — is much less dangerous than a grizzly bear. "

Try to go around them rather than have a path confrontation. Don't run.

That is it. I never would have remembered it exactly. If I were her I would have changed it to a stage name.

Well you pull out your Ruger Blackhawk in .44 magnum and shoot the bear. Never leave home without it!

44 has been proven worthless.

That bear seemed like he was looking for food (like previous runners / hikers had fed him).

What a couple of wimps. That was a juvenile bear and he was showing no signs of aggression. He just wanted food.

I never go out into nature without a firearm. It’s just common sense.

And almost all Black bears will run from you. Not so much if you ever encounter a grizzly. they seem to know they are protected, and are more aggressive.

it hasn’t hurt her 40+ year film and TV career.

Looks like they did the right thing. When Yogi was close, they backed up and maintained eye (camera) contact and made lots of noise. When Yogi seemed to lose interest, then broke contact for shelter. Next to armed defense (.357 for a black bear), they seemed to do everything right.

It was a joke. I guess you didn’t look at the shirt for sale on Amazon making fun of 44.
