You have to go to the rich people’s Goodwill.
...

I bought $800 worth of practically new golf shirts and shorts for about 75 bucks

I bought a Jos. A Bank suit that might have been tailored for me for 20 bucks

The true find is Thrift World in Dallas. Bought tags on Apple Bottom jeans (to re-sell or frighten my daughters), Escada suit, plus 3 lovely trash bags replete with jeans, sweaters, golf shirts, designer slacks and a suede fringe jacket (Texas, duh) for $75. (I have 3 kids.)

All in one shopping leaves more time for Q.

Aye, there are finds to be had in consignment shops in high-end neighborhoods.

A $180 shirt for $17.

One time I got three designer-name sport shirts and five pairs of pants for $26.

Where in Dallas? Near Preston Center? There’s a great one on Sherry Lane - The Clothes Circuit. Lots of Highland Park consignment clothes. Of course not quite as inexpensive as donated items, but really great bargains nevertheless. I shopped there all the time when I was working.
