To give JR some props, several of us made it very clear that Cruz was not eligible for POTUS (NBC) and, DESPITE, the [sorry] precedent set by Omoeba, FR should not support Teddy.
We were excoriated for the position but...we held steady.
I wondered if the Cruz/NBC issue had much of an impact in the primary ballot? Do you think it did?
Since no one on the hill has ever thought to mention it or address it, for ions of time, I personally had to blow it off as noise. I was so busy following DJT and thought the NBC to be an issue that didn’t have a prayer to be addressed. Certainly, not during a campaign.
I was so into Trump, so early, and on every issue, he was an answer to prayer, a God-send. There was no other like him.
Cruz was losing debates to TRUMP and then started messing with delegates in IOWA, wasn’t it, and proved to be an obvious jerk on steroids— a snake, in my book. Then that crooked tactic affected me, (after the Colorado Cruz Campaign screwed Trump delegates out of positions, there).
They brought that crap to TEXAS and I couldn’t believe it.
My TEXAS congressional district is sacrificially conservative, solid Christian voters, broken glass Republicans.
Our delegates to the TEXAS State Rep. Convention thought Cruz was positively “Messianic”, with no proof anywhere that Ted had ever darkened the door of any church, but he was an educated man and he could drop names and scripture like a tent revival preacher. Fine.
But, at the TX State Convention, no Trump delegate in my CD, was nominated to be a national delegate to the National Convention.
Trump’s designated number of TEXAS delegates (for my district) to the National Convention were, everyone of them, Cruz delegates!
So, even today there is a statewide grudge against Cruz that only grew after TRUMP fulfilled his own every promise, or has it in progress.
BETO is a communist snake charmer himself, so Cruz hasn’t had a cake walk, but can win. Thank God. Putz, but he will win, reportedly. And, I will be voting for him, of course.
