They had NO Halloween stuff when I took Charlie to Dollar Tree on the 2nd. The clerk said all that stuff had been pulled overnight from 10-31 when they closed for the night to 11-1 when they opened. Maybe another dollar store might, but I don’t like other stores because “dollar” in the name is only a suggestion of the prices in the store.
Not so with Dollar Tree. One dollar is all you pay, no matter what it is. But they may have something Thanksgiving-ish that will be suitable. I’ll just have to make sure the length is sufficient and take a little tape measure with me.
I’m glad Dog and the Jameses are bonding. It gives them both something to do. ;o]
Two letters down. One more to go today. Or maybe tomorrow while I’m listening to “Midsomer Murders” and their zither I can at least start it. Or finish it as the case may be.
Since I had given the late Chuck’s “door snake” to Charlie because of the Epic Fail Latino Lawn Service’s aim in blowing the leaves from his patio (they blew it and the debris into his entryway) I decided that it was time for me to make one for myself. So I had to find a skein of yarn and the stuffing, but it was surprisingly easy to find. So I made one over the last four days. (Bright red, hard to miss, even on the threshold!) I needed a project since I had finally run out of yarn to make scarves with.
So its bright red and lacks about 1/2” of being long enough but it will work. Now I need more yarn to make more scarves with. And we’re only a third of the way through the month.
What will I do now? My sanity is at stake, here! LOL! I hope I can find something to do for therapy. I don’t know where the rest of my yarn stash is. I knew, once... but that was a lot of boxes and storage tubs ago. I hate to even think how many of those containers I’d have to look through to find something to work with.
Oh. Wait. My daughter’s Rob’t wants a runner for his table, so maybe I can thread... where is the thread? Got the pattern and the hook but I need the thread. I’ll look.
I know where my yarn is.
I took Dog for a walk. Now I need to do some dishes, and then go track Kathleen down at her friend’s house before it starts getting dark.
I’m off to bed...See you tomorrow...
See you!
As further evidence that a certain very hot place is experiencing sudden onset freezing, the Cleveland Browns defeated the Atlanta Falcons today 28 - 16...
A sport, right?
They call it the NFL..
The main point to note is that the Browns went 0 - 14 last year so a win is, um, a miraculous sign that someplace has frozen over.. ;-)
Oh, I see. Well, good for the Browns!
Have you adopted a doggie?
I thought James was Dog's best friend?
Another Monday, and I've got The S-S-L-O-W-W-s. I hate when that happens. I have things to do at 78 RPM, and I'm stuck on 33 1/3.
Anoreth’s dog. She’s staying here will DP, Anoreth, and Bill are at the Outer Banks Marathon. They’ll be back this afternoon.
Good morning. It’s Monday here, too.
Even da floof looks disgruntled about Monday.
The laundry has been sorted, the bed is made, the steroid has been had and I’m not ready to start the day. Too late!! It’s already started! Waaaaah!
OK. That’s out of the way.
It’s Monday here too. Schedules are confused because yesterday was Veterans’ Day. No banks, no library, no U.S. Mail, but the colleges are open, and the Wall Street Journal came.
I’m thinking of taking some people for haircuts this morning.
Well, now. Back from the laundromat. But when I first got in there, I had to stop to answer some text messages. Yesterday, Lablady was all “oh-the-snow-is-so-beautiful!” and “Sitting-by-the-fire-watching-the-snow-fall” and this morning the text was basically: MOM! I’ve never driven in snow before and I’m scared to death!
Mom: Take a deep breath. Both hands on the wheel. Take it slow and stop when you have to.
After she made it work: My hands are still shaking! I didn’t have the right washer fluid and it froze on the windshield!
Mom: Take a deep breath. Hands in your lap. Its OK. You made it. It will be easier next time.
I was lucky that I grew up in a town where snow was a given in winter, and the snow-plows were attached to the city dump trucks which were filled with coal dust. On the tops of those piles of coal dust were men with shovels. We lived at the top of a hill, and the only way home was up. I learned to drive in that stuff at the age of 13.
She’ll get the hang of it by the next snowfall.
:o])
It’s raining here. The dog went out and got soggy.
Wet dog. Yep. An aroma that’s only slightly ameliorated by dog shampoo.
Laundry is DONE and hanging to dry. Now the rest of the day is mine. I MAY get the lamp put back together today. If not today, then tomorrow, but I need a 3-way bulb for it. It will be nice to have the light close enough to where I can see what my fingers are actually doing with the thread.
I surprised myself and slept fairly well last night. It was actually a four-hour block before I woke up the first time. The rest of the night wasn’t so pleasant. But ohwell.
Maybe, when I come back in from visiting with Charlie and being available for Bella to get her little puppy love all over me, I’ll start printing up Nephew Bill’s genealogy. The addition of one name at the beginning will add several more pages at the end.
On second thought, I’d better finish writing letters. I have two more to go. THEN I can start on the genealogy!
I slept rather heavily, after staying up too late watching Memorial Day videos. Now I’m dragging the Offspring kicking and screaming through some schoolwork.
