Bette Midler is apologizing for a tweet that caused a social media backlash when she compared the struggle of women to the history of racism. The singer-actress wrote that women are the n-word of the world and They are the most disrespected creatures on earth. Midler was quoting the title of a 1972 song written by John Lennon and Yoko Ono.
Bette Midler✔ @BetteMidler
The too brief investigation of allegations against Kavanaugh infuriated me. Angrily I tweeted w/o thinking my choice of words would be enraging to black women who doubly suffer, both by being women and by being black. I am an ally and stand with you; always have. And I apologize.

Other than her rather broad bosom, is there anything worth thinking positive about this moron.
Well, she was a hell of a good singer back in the '70s.
Well, I have always admired her frontal structure . . . and now I lessen my admiration seeing that she's a total moron.

She should get the same treatment as Paula Deen.Yeah, Paula Deen should have simply said that she had been quoting someone else - Gandhi, Thoreau, St. Augustine, or what-not.

I am an ally and stand with you; always have. Admitting that being a Liberal entitles her to special consideration... The usual rules don't apply to her... Sickening!

So, Bette's saying that black women suffer because they're women AND black?

We need an FBI investigation to determine if shes really sorry.

And to determine whether or not any conservative ever threw ice at her.

So, did she actually use it or did she put n-word in her tweet.Unfortunately, given the current climate of moral outrage hysteria gripping the nation (also known as "P.C." - which George Carlin presciently defined as "Fascism pretending to be good manners"), it'll be nearly impossible to determine that, now.

That apology statement isn't much of an apology. It is sort of a backhanded slap -- "... black women who doubly suffer, both by being women and by being black..."
Midler's white female privilege is showing.

Bill Clinton may have said “Better put some ice on that” after beating a girl and raping her, but at least he didn’t throw ice! That’s just going too far.

Back when she was doing her raunchy act in NYC gay bath houses? Before she went mainstream. I admire talent.
She had to make a living. So she ended up being loyal to a class of people who helped her out when she was struggling, that's her choice. At least she didn't have to worry about being assaulted backstage, or at least I hope she didn't.
Anyway, she's a lefty, like about 80% of the other people in the entertainment business. Too bad, I wish it were otherwise, but I still think she's talented. I think the same about Streisand.

Barry Manilow played piano for her at those bath houses. Bet Barry really enjoyed that.
