I agree with Alan here.

There’s one other aspect of this.

In the worst case scenario, this kid groped the woman. He and his friend left the room. Her life was not ruined. She has a Doctorate. People whose lives are ruined don’t obtain doctorates.

She on the other hand, does want to ruin his life. If he is denied a seat on the SCOTUS, he will have an asterisk after his name from here on out. He will have had his career at least frozen, and perhaps destroyed.

There is no equity in this, and I don’t for a moment believe he did this to her. Even if he did, 36 years later? Really?

Seat the man and knock off the theatrics.
