I had a stray Kitty that I couldn’t even pet. But when he got really sick and on only let me pick him up but he was very calm when I took him to the vet. They seem to know when they are being helped. The vet gave him a shot to calm him first. And I got to pet him and kiss him goodbye. And then he gave him the final shot.

Just letting you know, it could go little different than you are thinking. Especially if he is suffering at home.

I know it is so hard to make these decisions. Looking back, every Kitty I had euthanized I waited too long. But I just couldn’t make the decision. Not until it was super obvious I had no other choice. They are family.

Do you have any mobile vets in the area? Those are wonderful to take care of sick kitties that you don’t want to move or that have a fear of the vet’s office. I don’t know why I didn’t think of that earlier. Sorry,

I just prefer for animals to die a natural death, unless of course they suffered a horrible injury. Today is the first day I suspect he may be in pain, but I can’t get any pain meds for him. He may not have the strength to put up a fight at the vets now, but he would still feel the trauma. He’s been clingy and sitting on my lap most of the day, and I got an eyedropper if he needs more water. I think he’d rather pass at his home with me. I may be wrong, and I thought about it today, but Lord please forgive me.

The vets said they would have to check him and weigh him so they could give him the right dose. They said it doesn’t matter if he’s dying. I guess that’s the law, but it doesn’t make any sense in this case.
