I used to get into arguments at IBM Research over computer designed indices and hand-generated ones. My position was that hand done was better. Their’s was that the joy was of no human effort. When I retired, one of my early games was to see if I could make a digital book that was BETTER than holding a physical book in the hands and skimming. I used an art book that had belonged to my grandmother, mother and me. It was falling apart and my goal was to save it, and experiment, too. I took the same text and images and laid it out in 3 different ways so that the reader could choose the way that was most natural for them to follow. I actually think it worked. And it’s still the part of my non-Henry site that gets the most hits.

This might give away a potential money making idea, but I've wondered for years why we don't make books/pages out of plastic. 
We can do it for noodles, but not for books?
