People either forget or are unaware that POTUS is the DOJ, POTUS is the FBI. The President can call for special details of person in any agency to perform certain classified missions that department heads don’t even know of. POTUS’s Chief of Staff can inform RR and Sessions that they pulling DOJ/FBI personnel for special projects and then it goes dark. In effect, POTUS sets up his own groups outside the chain of command of Sessions, RR, Wray. This happens in the military all the time.

Reconcile that thought with recent reports from Sara Carter explaining there were “two sets of books”. When I first heard that I thought she meant that the DS had one set of conversations + records, etc. that they maintained (i.e. GMail) and another they kept “on the record”. But what if there’s also - post Trump - sets of books for the white hats and the others maintained “on the books” but for black hats. Example - the FISA[20] might reveal the insurance policy as signed off by RR, McCabe, etc.. But there could / would also be another set of books maintained by the white hats who are monitoring the black hats. This would be further exemplified by having multiple versions of FISA’s floating around for example (with differing dates)
