I saw this this season on CBS's summer series Salvation about an asteroid on a collision course with Earth.

In the final episode, this Season 2 ended with the asteriod mysteriously changing course and going behind the moon. Then a sudden burst of light.

We have to wait until next summer (assuming the series is renewed) to find out whether aliens were driving the asteroid.
