An unpopular read on Ms. Cristine Blasey Ford, and how she dealt with Kavanaugh.
If you have ever (not just you, but anybody) dealt with a person, male or female, that has had life long abuse, life long counseling, you recognize immediately that your dealing with an expert on the subject, they have played the counseling game for so long, that they know the script.
They are experts at evasion. Compound that with the fact that she dedicated her life and career to psychology, and in fact became a teacher and professor in the field, tells the reader important facts about the person who represses this memory for 35+ years.
She is a control freak who thinks nobody knows or can tell her how to fix or deal with her problem, so begins a life long study in healing herself.
Of course, this is doomed to failure, but a compulsive personality will never admit that. They use charm, and wit, victim hood, and deflection like a seasoned pro, to get what they want. Living with a person like this is an untenable situation. You want to help, but nothing you do is good enough, as their value is to remain a victim, to them.
What is gained by dealing with, and resolving a trauma to this kind of person? Nothing.
If that were to happen, it would create a huge hole in their lives that would have to be filled with reality, and actual healing.
An obsessive, compulsive person is also a controlling person. They control the people around them, the narrative, the drama. This is so damaging not just to the person, but to those around them. The result is that they have distant friends. Those who can tolerate being around them for short periods of time, but do not want to be brought into the drama, as most people are not equipped to deal with it on a permanent basis.
Next, add a PHD to the mix, and she becomes an authority on the subject, she knows the patter, she knows the buzz words, she can easily lay low the less educated, and I saw in her testimony hints of disdain, or outright rejection for those who would question her story line.
When confronted with the overwhelming contradicting evidence of those who were supposedly there, she impeached the witnesses, or minimize them, or made convincing reasons why they answered as they did.
What you get to the outsider is a true victim, who deserves your sympathy, with the feeling that something happened to this person, but it seems they have the wrong aggressor. You dont know why, and feel that somehow your a bad person for feeling that way. It part of their game. And unless you have lived it, you see no defense that would be acceptable to others.
She is a permanent professional victim. I dont know if she is still married, but I did not see a husband, I have not seen supporting children, and most importantly the friends I have seen talking on YouTube fall right into the category I have described, distant, concerned, but not overly involved.
You cannot win with a person who does not care about winning, her entire support structure, is in large part herself. I would have felt sorry for her plight, except that I know this kind of person, and that would have required me to buy into her drama, been there, done that, and I will never again live thru it again.
As for how Kavanaugh dealt with her personally, he had no other choice but to acknowledge her pain, and use evidence to protect himself. At no point was she, IMO, seeking healing, or an end to her self imposed torment. I feel sorry for her in that regard.
Very good analysis. I agree, I have been around quite a few lifelong-counseling types - including a close relative who went into the field professionally - and have seen precisely as described.
Normally a troubled person such as this would be allowed to recede into obscurity after the Judge is confirmed. Unfortunately, the democrats are not going to allow her that opportunity. They will continue to use her for their own purposes and people on the other side will fight back and she will be destroyed in the process. Sad, but that is just the way thing are going now.
Well thought out and articulated.
Good article, and right on the money.
Good post, thank you.
As young man, I was involved in a fight with a guy swinging a baseball bat. It was a quick escalation and unexpected. It didn't last long, and a I dodged well, but he did catch me in the arm before a friend and I took him down. It probably lasted 20 seconds but felt like 10 minutes. (BTW I found out a few years later, he went to prison for badly beating a woman/girlfriend.)
I can still tell you exactly who was there, the exact spot, where I was beforehand, the route I travelled to get there, the clothes he was wearing, the weather, location, time of day, etc... trauma focuses the mind like that.
That little girl voice is used by women when they are trying to manipulate.
Let me ask you this...
If you don't remember going anywhere with anyone, and got stupid drunk, and don't remember leaving with anyone, and wake up in your own bed, where are you ?
She knew right where the upstairs bathroom was.... because she used it all the time. She remembered explicit details about the house, but couldn't remember whose house it was or who was there.
She said she had on a swimming suit. Maybe she just got back from swimming at the Country Club, or maybe she never made it to the Country Club to go swimming. I bet Daddy had a nice stock of 'beverages' in the house to entertain guests.
Guess who was President of the Country Club she described ?
Correct.
Which is why I said “When confronted with the overwhelming contradicting evidence of those who were supposedly there, she impeached the witnesses, or minimize them, or made convincing reasons why they answered as they did.”
“Guess who was President of the
Country Club she described ?”
?????????? Do tell!!!!!!!!!
Daddy.
Right you are, the victims are never just the prime victim, IMO its dangerous to you personally, to get involved with such people. I have watched loving parents of these people, destroyed emotionally, in loving care of their children.
It carries into your life long after you rid yourself of such people. I call them succubus, because they do suck the life out of you, and those around you.
I am sure many here can look at this woman, old before her years, and know somehow that this agony is self imposed.
I deal with the “Old Tapes” that come forward from the past experiences, sometime daily with people I love, that say to me, who are you talking about, because surely its not them, and they are right.
So my FR friends be careful out there.

Well said......
I think that a simpler explanation is plausible. In moderating a support group for sexual abuse survivors, Ford, as a psychologist in training or in practice, invented a story of her own near-rape as a teen that involved someone who had turned up in the news as a possible Supreme Court pick. This had the added benefit of drawing attention to her privileged background and upbringing in the DC area. Ford later replayed the story in couples therapy as an explanation and excuse for her trying conduct toward her husband. Someone who knew the story then egged her on to send put it forward when Kavanaugh was nominated.
I believe that Dr Ford was assaulted at about the age
of 12 & it was by a trusted family member.Evidence the childish voice, which she
has learned to use as a defended mechanism. She ends declarative sentences by raising her
voice as if to ask a question So she can deny
what she has just saidI believe both her mother & father failed to believe her.
Without agreement by her parents
She has repressed the event deeply.
Particularly the person. Remembering all
facts which were none accusatory, like
features in the room. The rest of the event was free floating.
When pressed for a person, she names
a person whom she wished it to have beenShe is a very lonely tortured soul with few close friends.
I find it interesting that the media hasn’t brought on Dr. Phil or other TV psychoanalysts to get their take on this gal or Kavanaugh.
I’m going to crawl out on a limb here and posit that if this incident happened, the ONLY reason Ford went up those stairs was to snuggle with a boy in the bedroom, not to use the bathroom. I don’t know of any two-story houses that do not have bathrooms on the ground floor so there was no logical reason for her to climb those stairs. I believe she went up the stairs expecting a little good time touchy-feely fun. When things started getting out of hand with whatever boy she was with (and I don’t think it was Kavanaugh) she struggled to free herself and fled into the upstairs bathroom. And I suspect she had far more than one beer.
Her parents and siblings also seem distant and uninvolved with her for some reason.

Yep, and I bet those reasons are doozies.

I want to see her use that little girl voice on the FBI agents sent to interview her. That voice wont influence or fool THEM. Lets see her lie to the FBIs questions. Her lies are already being exposed...see the following thread:
