And now what SERIOUS testimony before the U.S. Senate looks like:
WE’RE NOT GONNA TAKE IT!.....................
I laughed about Tipper Gore’s prissy ways back then too, with the majority of people, but it turns out she was prescient.
The lyrics of most music in 1985 are extremely tame compared to the vulgar Rap verses being screamed, mumbled and sputtered out today.
Maybe the pendulum will swing the other way in the next generation, to where it’s considered ‘over the top’ to use profanity in every situation and about every kind of topic. I know, “Dream On!”, you say.”Dream until your dreams come true.”
“it turns out she was prescient”
Fine line between that an thought police.
Tipper was a tool and a moron. Frank Zappa and Dee Snyder handed them their was. John Denver destroyed the morons.
“wake up dead” only a rocker could say something like that. lol
Bkmk
Congress thought Louie Louie was subversive. Congress is the least qualified body I America to regulate music.
Furthermore, no matter how bad music is, nothing in the Constitution gives Congress the charge of regulating morals in music.
Zappa was great in those hearings as well.
What’s funny is when he went on CNN Crossfire, it was the liberal that was arguing with Zappa, while the conservative, Robert Novak, more or less agreed with him.
4 later
And here I thought John Denver destroyed himself. And a rather spiffy airplane.
