Nope. They’ll only get worse. The parties are both addicted to grandstanding for their base at this point. Especially when it’s near election time. Expect future nominees to require months of “vetting” and probably 2 or 3 rejections before they finally let one through. American politics is theater, badly written melodrama theater no less.

Expect sitting judges to carefully choose whether to retire... and if so when. They could resign immediately before election day... or immediately after election day.
Expect presidents to name replacements immediately before, immediately after, or at the key point in the campaign.
Regardless of the scenario, it has been politicized .. a natural progression since Bork and then Thomas to now.
