One cannot get immunity from perjury on the matter to which one is testifying. It would be nonsensical: “I swear to testify truthfully, but you cannot prosecute me if I lie.”

Kavanaugh is already damaged goods even if he gets confirmed. There are lots of equal rights cases coming to the supreme court many of which are “me too cases”. Any time one comes to the fore, they will drag out Kavanaugh’s confirmation fight and suggest that he “recuse himself” as he might be considered “prebiased” against the women. He might be considered prebiased in the future should he just go back to his old job for every equal rights case that comes to his court might cause a request that he recuse himself.
At some point, you have to say “No.”
The problem with endless negotiability is that nobody ever gets to move on with their life. This is a VERY overdue lesson for some (not all) men to learn (particularly the ones suffering from Potomac fever). ABSOLUTELY NO questions about the last 3 months (or 3 years). Who contacted who? When? Who was “in the loop”? What phone calls has she been part of or been informed of? How many of her demands were her idea and how many came from someone else? Who’s paying for her lawyer and what inputs did that person/group have on negotiations.
Questions like those are absolutely relevant at this point. And likely either to result in perjury for her or “embarrassment” for many people she is working with.
As usual, the Repubs looking at a nominee’s qualifications for SCOTUS - his/her law career and record, and the ‘Rats dragging things down to their own level - did someone get to Second Base at 17 and/or 15.
This is why we, as Americans, can’t have nice things.
This shows that she’s lying. She can’t have immunity from defamation because that violates Kavanaugh’s right to sue for defamation. The Senate can’t agree to take away his right w/o his consent.
She can’t immunity from any other prosecution because the Senate is not a court.
Moreover it would not shield her from civil liability for defamation.
I think she has an excellent class action against that school with her fellow students. If that was their idea of a multi-k a year 1980s institute of higher education, as revealed in their proud yearbook, their culture encouraged rape and alcoholism. I’m not even joking for once. Those parents should have pulled their girls out, if the yearbook was approved by the actual school. And anyone who was groped at a party in the school milieu should sign up for that suit.

If she did ask for immunity, it will be noted when she testifies. Listen for vague language or, if the GOP has a set, flat out slow walking the explanation AT THE BEGINNING of the testimony, so the entire show can be viewed as FICTION, which it will be.
