Scott Adams has a different theory. He believes in all kinds of false memories, so even if Ms. Ford *really* believes that it was Kavanaugh, it could have been someone else. For example, having Mark JUDGE as a key part of the story may lead Ford to conjure up a real judge, such as Gorsuch or Kavanaugh.
They have to reject it. Question him first? About what? the letter that D Fineslime refuses to release? How can you defend yourself unless you know what you are accused of?
But they know this. This all about denying him the ability to respond to her and manipulating the commitee into a position where they can run to the press and accuse the Repubs of “Silencing” their Xrissy.
Those terms violate the commonly accepted conventions of contemporary western rule of law. Kavanaugh should not have to say anything, especially in advance of a PC freak who could bow out at any time for any reason. So it seems to me that this “offer” has the hallmarks of something that is designed to be refused from the beginning. If so, it is all about the midterms and painting republicans as old white patriarchs, unsympathetic to womens’ needs.
I would suggest to them calling the exculpatory witnesses to Ford’s accusations and letting an empty chair speak for Ford, then holding a vote. Meanwhile let a few other bombs from Hillarygate drop, and hopefully drown out any long term negative impact that Ford not being called might have. Like a visit to the dentist, just get it over with.
It’s possible I guess.

I would refuse to have Kavanaugh testify first. See if she shows on Monday. If not, cancel the hearings and schedule the vote for Monday. Or Friday afternoon.LOL.
