Among the most probable of theories is that the coin dropped out of a miner's pack as they walked along the Aboriginal trail on the way to the Hodgkinson gold fields west of Cairns. Late 19th Century miners often carried mementos or trinkets, including ancient coins, with them when they emigrated to Australia. Oh look what they say at the end of the article. Huh. Well, that seems a lot more likely than an ancient Egyptian crossed the ocean and half an inhospitable continent to drop a coin and leave no other traces of his existence.

Next, you’re going to try to me that Prince Modoc didn’t visit the Ohio River Valley in the 12th Century!

Especially since the Ancient Egyptians did not like to travel and their greatest fear was dying while not on Egyptian soil.
