My opinion?
The appointment of [RR] was like sending a german short-hair pointer out in the field to flush birds. Both POTUS and ]Sessions[ wanted to see what flew. [RR] used his appointment (Senate confirmation vote!) to further the interests of the Derps instead of his position’s benefactor (Donaldus Magnus). Comey out, Mueller in. The Administration now new which direction the birds would flush from.
Mulehead and [RR] are dirty, like Q says.
Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid. Final scene. Butch and Sundance (B&S) are holed up and [boxed] in by a Mexican military squad sent to stop their scofflaw ways. Unknown to B&S, a large amount of support troops have assembled against them. They discuss their choices; give up and hang or take the chance they can outshoot the (supposedly) small squad or die trying (AKA: Going out, guns blazing).
We (Anons and FReeQs) may be at this moment of the movie. What do [RR] and Mulehead do?
Great notion - they put him there to FIND OUT whether he was WH or not.

I must have missed that drop. Can you provide the number please?
imho, that’s more than a lot plausible.
Perhaps RR was to flush out the DS. Perhaps he was what he appeared, a supposedly Republican prosecutor who was one of the few that were available in the DOJ at the time of the inauguration, and he came recommended by Reince and other establishment types. They thought he was professional and had no idea he was compromised until the day he appointed Mueller and boxed Trump in. They then came up with a plan to counter what they soon realized was a deep state coup attempt.
Or they knew all along that RR was a black hat and used him as you suggest.
I don’t know which it was. Either scenario is plausible. We will have to wait and see to know. I do agree that RR and Mule are both dirty and always have been. I have never bought the notion that they aren’t.
