Thanks, I kinda know my way around our macs, been dealing with them since 92(mac performa! LOL!).

I do need either a disk or a firewall cable, as the iMac wants to be just a big paperweight, with a lit screen. If I could find my firewire cable, I could use my MacBook as the boot drive and use the Target Disk Mode.

I’ve got you beat. I had an Apple IIc in 1983. Got a 165c laptop (in color!) in 1993. And a Centris before that.
