Out of curiosity, do you live in AZ? No judgment, just curious as to where that assumption comes from.
My guess is that if it is indeed what people in AZ demand, it would have already happened, since Ducey himself was facing a primary challenge. Why would he not have given his constituents what they demand?
I don’t know if Theodore R lives in Arizona, but I do. It’s definitely not what I want nor what most Republicans in the Prescott area want either.
Sometime prior to Senator McCain’s diagnosis, he had a local office in Prescott, AZ. One day on our local AM talk station, his name came up as a topic because he had recently closed his Prescott office—apparently because he had become so unpopular in the area due to all of his bad-mouthing of President Trump etc. The radio station received one solid hour of negative calls against McCain—I never realized how unpopular he was in our area until that moment!
As for who will replace McCain, I have a feeling it will be Jon Kyl. I think there was a deal made behind the scenes, and that’s why Trump endorsed Ducey right before the primary (and didn’t endorse anyone for the Senate primary).
