Vanity: Adoration funeral for John McCain has gone on long enough. Gov. Ducey...act!!!

Posted on 09/01/2018 2:30:43 PM PDT by JLAGRAYFOX

Enough already will the love fest farce of the McCain deep swamp death gig!!! My message is directed to Republican, Governor, Doug Ducey of Arizona.

Sir, you have shortchanged & openly neglected your duties by remaining silent since last, December, 2017, when Republican, Senator, John McCain became absent and unable to cast his vote in the U.S. Senate, therefore rendering him incapable of effectively representing the seven million citizens that reside in Arizona.

I am urging you to do your duty and responsibility and appoint Ms. Kelli Ward...immediately to fill the remaining length of McCain's term. This charade and cover act has gone on way too long and has hurt not only citizens of Arizona...but....all the citizens in the USA.

For your own political success and welfare, I demand that you refuse to appoint any "McCain" family member to the now open McCain remaining term.

People in AZ never once considered retiring McCain and would be content for him to remain in the Senate had he recovered. I was for Dr. Ward in both of the contests in which she made lackluster showings.

Did I read correctly that the AZ Gov cannot appoint a deceased senator’s relative to complete his term, and the appointee must be from the same party as the deceased?

That’s a horrible thought.

I don’t agree with appointing Ward; she lost fair and square, even without Arpaio in the race. McSally ended up with 53%.

The AZ law states that Ducey must appoint someone from the same party as the Senator was when elected. I don’t think it forbids a family member. Cindy is a Rat but l don’t know if she is registered in a party.

I don’t know if Theodore R lives in Arizona, but I do. It’s definitely not what I want nor what most Republicans in the Prescott area want either.

Sometime prior to Senator McCain’s diagnosis, he had a local office in Prescott, AZ. One day on our local AM talk station, his name came up as a topic because he had recently closed his Prescott office—apparently because he had become so unpopular in the area due to all of his bad-mouthing of President Trump etc. The radio station received one solid hour of negative calls against McCain—I never realized how unpopular he was in our area until that moment!

As for who will replace McCain, I have a feeling it will be Jon Kyl. I think there was a deal made behind the scenes, and that’s why Trump endorsed Ducey right before the primary (and didn’t endorse anyone for the Senate primary).

“Governor Ducey definitely should appoint her to the United States Senate!!!!”

I donated, went to a fundraiser, and voted for Ward but she turned out to be a lousy fundraiser and ran a less than effective campaign. Had the endorsements of Rand Paul, Sebastin Gorka, Sean Hannity, Mark Levin, Paul Gosar (AZ-4), and Laura Ingraham and Ward went nowhere. I will say no to appointing her to the Senate.

What an idiot. Governors appoint replacements after the funeral. Why is that hard for you to understand. I can also guarantee you that it will not be Ward who was trounced soundly in the primary. Politically, that would be a dumb choice - really dumb.

That is standard. No governor announces a replacement until the funeral is over. jjotto is unaware of how life works.

What are you talking about? The Governor could not do anything until McCain stepped down or died. He died last week. Governor Ducey will appoint soon.

Close is not good enough. The winner (I forgot her name) won a majority of the vote and Ward won’t be appointed - it’s temporary anyway. The appointment is not going to change how the world works.

Nope. I worked for all the decent Republicans and those on the Conservative line as a young Republican as well as donated lots of money to good candidates. Some we won, some we lost. Most, we lost - we were outnumbered. I worked for good candidates for 35 years but now I’m tired and want out. Republicans in Arizona loved John McCain while decent Republicans and conservatives in New York despise their Democrat overlords.

We will see. Like you I support K. Ward. I am not a fan of Ducey, I simply don’t trust him. Hope I am wrong.

With McSally (having the “Mc” as a beginning to the last name isn’t reassuring at this time even if she is the only one who has a chance to actually win it) on top for the other seat, this would be a perfect solution.

Not at all. Ducey is quite loyal to Trump, and has rebuilt much of the AZ Republican party after McCain pushed out all leaders who were not loyal to him, McCain, when they had censured him twice.

If anything, Ducey is very forward thinking. He absolutely *must* appoint someone on the 4th, which is the day the senate judiciary hearings begin for Kavanaugh, even though the new senator will not be on the judiciary committee. So that the new senator will have that time to orient himself and get on the bandwagon prior to the November elections.

Also important, because the elections will fill the seat of the *other* senator, and Ducey definitely wants McSally(R) to get that instead of Sinema(D).

Yeah, Ducey is playing 3D political chess here.

When Ducey does not hand that Senate seat to McCain's widow or daughter, I'll think better of him.

Until then America is still being held hostage by people that shouldn't be.
