I have been asked to be a pallbearer several times. Always surprised how heavy the casket is.
Be funny if the body fell out like it did for the Ayatollah.
They are built to last a long, long time. Especially heavy if they enclose an overweight individual.
FWIW, read earlier that the late Senator would have a funeral procession across country. Announced, then forgotten. Will they be moving from Arizona to DC by air or by land. Planning to wave a flag by the side of the road? (if by land) The whoop-la has been so great all reception of information has been turned off at this point. Sick of it.
Well it is dead weight ya know. :-)
I know, right? I'm a girl but my uncle's favorite niece. I was honored to be, along with my 2 cousins (1 his son) and my 3 brothers, a pall bearer.
Getting Uncle Frank into the church and up to the alter was a piece of cake. As we were leaving the church, however, the one short blonde girl (moi) muttered to her brothers, "Is is just me, or did Uncle Frank put on some weight during his funeral? Alright, who gave him the wine??!"
Its the dead weight
