I wonder if that is one of the reasons for the inclusion of text on one’s passport regarding surrending of citizenship while taking up arms against the US?
Makes it easier for the MIL to turn a traitor into a SPLAT and save the judicial system some $$. Many a WWII vet has passed through my life that said they would have enjoyed “threading Rose’s needle”.
