It was so funny that you went to Medora. A friend of mine is a good friend of the Walton family member who is heading up the funding of the Teddy Roosevelt Presidential Library there. My friend told me that I HAD to go to Medora to see it, even though the library itself hasn’t been built. I told her that an eight-hour round trip was out of the question, even if I had rented a car.
Was it worth the visit?
Yes, it was worth it. I would say that seeing North Dakota is worth it, despite the hours one has to spend driving across the flat part, which gets old rather quickly.
Medora itself is a little bit of a tourist trap, but a cute, peaceful one, with a few shops with interesting things and some historical sites and small museums.
I thought the Teddy Roosevelt National Park, which starts there, is actually much more scenic than the Badlands National Park in S.D.
