Dark to Light.
When I read that, I thought about something similar that occurs in beekeeping. (I'm a beekeeper.) One of the hive pests that beekeepers encounter is the small hive beetle, which lays eggs inside the cells of (usually) the brood portion of a hive, and they hatch out as little white maggots. You usually only see the little black beetles, but if you have an infestation and pull a frame out and on it's side so that the sunlight hits it, after just a minute, the little larvae will come crawling out, trying to escape the light. That reminds me of what we are starting to see now :-)
What a good description of the Derps. They attach themselves to a healthy host and functioning system (America) and suck out of it all they can.
Think Clintons, Obamas, McCain, etc.
