Two key Republican senators signaled to President Donald Trump that he could replace Attorney General Jeff Sessions after the midterm elections in November, a move that would open the way for firing Robert Mueller or constraining his probe into Russian meddling in the 2016 election.
The presidents entitled to an attorney general he has faith in, somebody thats qualified for the job, and I think there will come a time, sooner rather than later, where it will be time to have a new face and a fresh voice at the Department of Justice, Senator Lindsey Graham of South Carolina, who may be in line to head the Judiciary Committee next year, told reporters Thursday. Clearly, Attorney General Sessions doesnt have the confidence of the president. ... That represents a significant shift from Grahams stance a year ago, when he warned Trump publicly that if he fired Sessions there will be holy hell to pay.
Senator Chuck Grassley, the current Judiciary chairman, also changed his position on Thursday, saying in an interview that hed be able to make time for hearings for a new attorney general after saying in the past that the panel was too busy to tackle that explosive possibility.
Asked about a possible replacement for Sessions, Grassley took a different position from a year ago, when he warned the White House he didnt have time to do another confirmation hearing that year. ... I do have time for hearings on nominees that the president might send up here that I didnt have last year, Grassley of Iowa said Thursday.

I totally agree with you. Q is not real. I used to believe it. Forget about it. Trump made mistake using apprentice skill to fill AG. Thats only cabinet position you cant say youre fired at will. As much as I like trump he will pay price for his reckless appointment of sessions
My /s didn’t get posted!!!
The Sessions boot lickers who have been defending Sessions
will be proven wrong.
Q will be exposed as a hoax. And his cult followers will be
exposed as gullible saps.
Just as many of us have been have been saying all along.
LOL.
Love that ping.
Where is our resident Sessions boot licker?
You are right Sessions will not be fired.
He will “ resign” to spend more time with his family.
And grow Watermelons back in Alabama.
NOW, these clowns signal he can dump them AFTER the elections?????
I swear to God I hate RINOs more than DemocRats.
“NOW, these clowns signal he can dump them AFTER the elections????? I swear to God I hate RINOs more than DemocRats.”
Now that they know that mueller is presenting an impeachment report to congress...The fix is in.
“Sessions will not be fired.”
He will likely resign, to save face.
I need to see an objective list, of his accomplishments.
I believe he has some, in the immigration area.
I don’t consider marijuana to be a positive for him.
“Do you suppose that if Trump fires Sessions, Q-anon believers will rethink their support?”
I doubt it. They’ve put too much of themselves into the whole scheme at this point. The story will morph into Sessions doing top secret work or some other kind of nonsense.
That Q stuff is fun reading, but I tend to think that its stuff that’s happening in some other timeline/alternate universe :-) :-P .
I did pay some attention to that stuff when those drops first popped up ... they were neat ... but after a short while, it was pretty obvious it was a bunch of fiction.
What’s the obsession with Q?
Anyone saying 2+2=13 or ‘trust sessions’ I dismiss out of hand.
I don’t need some anonymous queer on the internet to tell me which way the wind is blowing.
I would like to see a correlation between Q followers and followers of sasquatch, unicorns, UFOs, etc.
I would not doubt it.
“Sessions will not be fired.”
True, and if he resigns after nearly two years it will mean nothing - two years is a relatively long lifespan for a cabinet appointee.
I suspect that after the midterms, Mueller will have outlived his usefulness to the deep state and conclude his investigation. Their impeachment hopes will likely be dashed, but even in the off chance there is Blue Tsunsmi and impeachment movement “gets legs”, they will no longer need Mueller’s questionable contribution.
So there will never be a way to confirm or deny Sessions haters’ allegations that - without a weak and recused Jeff Sessions, and his deep state coconspirators in the Senate - Trump would have had Mueller fired and avoided any witch hunt. They also insist that with a different AG, Hillary Clinton and a bunch of other high level Obama era officials would be locked up.
None of this will ever be proved at this point, but after almost two years, it’s looking more and more like Trump never had any intention of ending the witch hunt or locking up Democrat ex officials.
As I said, the Mueller investigation will likely sputter out soon after the midterm anyway - but let’s make a new bet -
If Trump gets a new unrecused AG after the midterms, how many top Obama era officials will this AG lock up during his tenure?
I say none. In other words the same as Jeff Sessions.
He already is the AG unless Sessions is doing one of the greatest cloak and dagger operations in the history of the DOJ. I had great hope for Sessions and he still might change but for now he is in over his head and thinks the DOJ/FBI is the DOJ/FBI of the 1970’s-80’s when it still had a reputation and trust of the people.
Now they are the worst of the worst and I didn’t think anyone could out do the BATF, IRS and VA for being utter bottom feeders in government, but the DOJ and FBI have become that, no trust whatsoever in these agencies.
Woooo hoooo!!!!!!!
Fire Sessions ASAP!!!!
Buh bye Magoo...so sad...
The Vacancies Act of 1998 means the President isnt stuck with the next in line. The President can interim appoint anyone the Senate OKd for a different job.
No, no more Senators!
