I had enormous respect and gratitude for Wilson when he did that. I never understood how he could be left hanging out to dry as the lone ranger. The entire R delegation should have stood by him. Or walked out of the SOTU. Or something.
And the fact that they did not stand by him shows whose side they are/were on.
