I was looking for a pic of Anderson as a boy, had a thought he might be the boy in the painting. Didn't find anything to suppport that but I found this:

Note the pine cones and the butterfly. One of the boys is wearing red shoes. Anything I'm missing?

Wyatt Cooper died in Manhattan, New York City on January 5, 1978, at age 50, during open heart surgery, after having a heart attack the previous December.

On July 22, 1988, Carter Cooper committed suicide by jumping from the window of his mother's 14th-floor apartment. He was 23.

I recall someone noticed something about painting in back; it’s like every photo she takes has increasingly less subtle symbolism

Pine cones are cabbages and cauliflowers.
