Don't do what I did, sportsfans. I took one look at this post and thought, Think budget = upcoming budget. Wrong.
I thought, as many may, that since the parade was scheduled at the end of the year, and the next budget battle is around the same time and just before the mid-terms, that surely that is the budget Q was referring to. Not so.
I can't make that make sense. What I CAN make make sense (Sotomayor) is if we think about the LAST budget that The Donald just signed. The one that risked his base for when he signed it.
He needed that military expenditure increase AT ALL COSTS. Why?
Because I now honestly believe, whereas I didn't before, that the military parade is intended to be high alert status for the ENTIRE military, most especially D.C.
I think that, not only do "plans change" upon first contact with the enemy, and they surely have on a daily basis, but that The Donald needs the time for the increased military spending to be felt in readiness, equipment, training, etc.
Cash doesn't turn into trained troops, tanks, and planes in one day.
So, anyway. That's my basic grokking of this situation. I don't ask you to believe, but only to think. And "think LAST budget", and what that might mean to the understanding of this announcement.
p.s. To the trolls and wobblers, especially. I expect some belly-aching and lowered spirits (and troll dancing) over this.:(
