Saw ELO at Denver Pepsi Center last Wednesday, 8,8,2018. Wow, show looked to n=be sold out. The wife and I had great seats. Section BBB, row 7. That is the center of the floor, row 7. It was amazing. Around 20 songs and I knew them all. It has been 35 years since ELO played in the USA and I was there. They have more dates before their last date in London. Two nights at Madison Square Gardens in NYC. Maybe 8 shows remaining. I highly recommend.
No kidding! Thats surprising.
The UK number 1 single was Xanadu with Olivia Newton-John.
To encourage us less fortunate FREEPERS who couldn’t see ELO on this tour to check out the Youtube video I posted, this thing starts out with the band COMING OUT OF A SPACESHIP while Jeff is playing the cords to “Do ya”.
Did I mention his backing vocals and strings are definitely NOT GUILTY?
You’ll thank me later, trust me.
The video for “end of the line” had some serious foreshadowing with Orbison’s chair being filled by a six-string with his photo in the background.
“Celebrity Theatre?”
Yep, it’s still there? I’d love to APP there.
I was there with both you guys. Was up much higher, but it was a great view of the video effects on the stage floor! Loved it all!
“All Over the World”> Now that is real singing.
My dream duo set would be ELO and the Little River Band.
Dylan was such a bit player in that band that I’d forgotten he was one of the original Wilburys.
Well, the video was done after his death . . . .
Wow. Has he been gone that long?
His voice will live forever.
I don’t usually pay for front row seats, but did for this one. It was great to see the chords being played up close.
Check on the fourth song in this concert footage:

The only other concerts I have been nearly as close were Lynyrd Skynyrd, Moody Blues, Eric Clapton and Rolling Stones.
Jeff does a great version of it in this concert footage:

My favorite version complete with his NOT GUILTY strings and backup vocals is in this footage:

Concerts like those are God’s way of saying you are making to much money.
Here is the YouTube for the LA concert just a few days before. A little different play list:

Maybe their hits were way overplayed and commercial, but Id pay to hear good renditions of:
One Summer Dream
Nightrider
The co-moochie is moaning and making threatenting overtures as it is now 11:20 local time. I will be jamming this on the morrow.
FReegards.
That is a low def cut of their 2001 Zoom tour youtube video.
That whole video is by far the best concert video on YouTube.
