The evidence is not a joke, it is what it is.
Dinosaur fossils disappear from the geological record after the K-T boundary, the serious question is, why?

Some scientists insist that the Chicxulub asteroid explains 100% of the extinctions.
Others like Gerta Keller say there must have been other factors.
Of course scientists are not immune to human nature, but the basic debate is both serious and scholarly, this particular article notwithstanding.
