The 29-year-old man who stole a Horizon Air turboprop plane from Sea-Tac International Airport and crashed it on an island in Puget Sound on Friday night performed a series of loops and said he’d attempt a barrel roll — and now, investigators say they’re trying to learn how he attained the skill to perform those dangerous maneuvers.

This is a hard one 30 years ago at the Atlanta airport I sat in amazement that a plane could even get off the ground, so I can’t say nope guys just joyriding, but when he said he puked but he was ok I stopped listening... I got to go back and read I missed something.

They say he learned ‘playing video games’ but no one notes how realistic programs like Micro$oft Flight Simulator are. They have the layouts of the airports, the cockpits are very detailed, or so I understand, I imagine you could learn everything you would need to know from one of those sims. Except, of course, what to do when things go wrong.
