In listening to the audio, I find it bizarre. Everyone is extremely calm. The pilot comes off as on a joy ride. He sounds happy, incredulous at the beauty of the mountains. The pilot’s voice, tone, inflections, volume is exactly the opposite one would expect from a person under stress. Just very bizarre to hear.

Sorry for the late reply. Too little too late since I’m about 400 posts behind on this thread.
IMHO, “Rich” and all the sounds surrounding him fit him and what he is doing and his intended outcome. I think his worst regret was his fuel ran out before his sight-seeing was over and his fantasy flight lasted shorter (about an hour)than he had imagined.
“Andrew” the Air Traffic Controller followed a script? Yes, but not what others speculate. “Andrew” was thrust upon the hot seat underneath the airspace he is responsible for of the 9th busiest airport in the US. He’s following the script of his ATC training, FAA, military(nearby McChord AFB), and the Seattle air authority regulations and protocols long time in place for a situation like this.
While “Rich” has shed the misery of his mortal life for the beauty of the hereafter he imagined, “Andrew’s” misery will go on. Every thing he said and did will be scrutinized by review boards and how many litigious defendant and witness lists will he personally be on? Imagine if this had ended worse than it did.
What will be “Andrew’s” best defense? He relied on and did everything he did “by the book”, a book he didn’t write.
Pray for both “Rich” and “Andrew” and their families.
Rather than chase speculations ‘round and ‘round the cul-de-sac, I’m more focused on if the demons of the Dark Side are trying to figure out how to not let this crisis go to waste, especially with all that’s plastered on the “Q” boards.
Will they spin this into a news-missile shot to smear POTUS and followers?
