There is smoke in the distance near the island in at least one video I’ve seen; video was not close enough to see if a pilot ejected, however. BTW I am not in the remote control speculation group - I think that’s overly complicated and unnecessary. Why go to the trouble when you just have a hot shot pilot complete his op status by taking the “Q” up for a few runs, draw a “Q”, do the barrel roles, run cover and/or take out something in that area.

so why would a white hat kamikaze the plane into that island?
Not sure how easy it is to get out of that airliner, but I doubt it has an ejection seat.
