Anyone have actual fact as to the security clearance classification of the SITUation Room and its immediate surroundings?
The situation room would have no classification imo. Based on what was being discussed would require clearance and the need to know. I don’t know if is is a SCIF, but I would doubt it. The ban on devices is probably upheld there. So Omarosa could be in there and fired there or its vicinity.
This is similar to what I went through at DoD and NSA. I was occasionally loaned out to other agencies/ departments.
Boiled down, a security clearance is a measure of an individual's loyalty to the United States and that they have the ability and willingness to protect whatever information they are entrusted with.
This is separate and distinct from a need to know. Just because a person has say, a TS/SCI clearance, that they will be shown any and all TS/SCI information. They must also have a job related "need to know" that particular compartment. I can't remember all the compartments I have been read on and off of over the years and I am happy about that.
