[ If/when the next Ice Age starts we are going to wish we could make enough CO2 to save ourselves. ]

this is yet another reason we should start settling the “great underground” and start building vast underground colonies powered by geothermal energy and nuclear molten salt reactors.

If not for this, but also they make great test beds for future planetary colonization which a vast majority of it will have to be underground anyways to deal with the ambient radiation levels in space.

Sadly I think any “underground country” will probably start the same exact way America started as a means to escape the political/religious persecution of the existing “old/new world society”.

I’m rather skeptical myself, but it’s very likely that the planet will be significantly cooler than it is now in ten years.

Seems the warnings are always one extreme or the other. Why never in the middle?

Well I predict by 2050 we will be faced with Global Mild Spring Temperatures each day to go along with a nice relaxing breeze. Everyday will be a perfect day for a vacation.

Most of the earth is already uninhabitable.

Due to liberalism.

I’m concerned about what will happen to Keith Richards at that time.

Mark Twain mocked this sort of “long range” prediction. They are very mockable.

Here's one...

Now, if I wanted to be one of those ponderous scientific people, and "let on" to prove what had occurred in the remote past by what had occurred in a given time in the recent past, or what will occur in the far future by what has occurred in late years, what an opportunity is here! Geology never had such a chance, nor such exact data to argue from! Nor "development of species," either! Glacial epochs are great things, but they are vague--vague. Please observe:--

In the space of one hundred and seventy-six years the Lower Mississippi has shortened itself two hundred and forty-two miles. That is an average of a trifle over one mile and a third per year. Therefore, any calm person, who is not blind or idiotic, can see that in the Old Oölitic Silurian Period, just a million years ago next November, the Lower Mississippi River was upwards of one million three hundred thousand miles long, and stuck out over the Gulf of Mexico like a fishing rod. And by the same token any person can see that seven hundred and forty-two years from now the Lower Mississippi will be only a mile and three quarters long, and Cairo and New Orleans will have joined their streets together, and be plodding comfortably along under a single mayor and a mutual board of aldermen. There is something fascinating about science. One gets such wholesale returns of conjecture out of such a trifling investment of fact.
Mark Twain, Life on the Mississippi, Chapter XVII (Pg 209)

Nope, definitely not!

Despite my general distaste for humanity as a whole, some humans are simply magnificent.

Evidence... rktman!

The portion of humanity that I cannot stand is the portion that cannot leave the rest in peace.

I do not care for those who wish to control, and there are many.

Doesn’t water make earth more than 70% uninhabitable already?

Not if you're a fish :^)

This is good. By the time 2100 comes around, there won’t be any Rolling Stoners alive.

Luckily the Partisan Media Shill is not telling the truth, although it's not unlikely that the party-line zealot and stooge believes that he is. Thanks Simon Green.

The people making the predictions are probably counting on the fact that most of the people reading the article will not be around in 2100, but it sounds near enough to cause some alarm. It would be like someone in 1936 trying to predict 2018.

Why not get real estate ideas from how Earth will look like in 250 M years?
