"Ray was one of the former Michael Vick dogs a Vicktory dog, as this troupe is known.
And like so many of the dogs rescued out of the horrific Bad Newz Kennels in 2007, Ray went from the worst kind of cruelty to the sort of bliss only known to spoiled dogs who get to sleep in their indulgent humans beds.
Ray died last weekend, after surgery to have his spleen removed."...

The worst of it is coming from a pit defender.
Something about eliminating pit *haters* and dissolving them in a vat of acid.
So post links to the *really nasty stuff* you claim the pit *haters* are posting.
Mollie, half pit, about 13-14 yo now. We've had her since she was 4. She's been though thick and thin with us. Probably won't be around much longer at her age.
You might be on to something. All the po-folk give their dogs Ole Roy and once upon a time when Sam Walton was around, it was good stuff but now, it’s probably made with ingredients from china.
Pit Bulls - the AR15 of dogs
I see a harness which is considered more humane than a collar but I also see the rainbow thing. Just decoration I think.
chihuahua
Now there’s a vicious dog right there. Hardest bite power per square inch but luckily, not many square inches. And they used to run in packs. Imagine 100s of little needle like teeth all biting you at once. Like dry land piranhas.
I did go to the link.
yup.
Here ya go

The list goes back to 1887. Notice the pattern. Hardly any were Pit Bulls until the 1980s when they started becoming popular with certain people. Namely the type of people who lack responsibility and lack obedience training themselves. Also the type of people who like dog fighting, are druggies looking for protection etc etc.
>>>University of Texas Study: 19661980
A study[10] conducted at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School identified 74 fatal dog bites during the period 19661980 from news media and medical literature.
Most fatalities were young children, including 23 infants under 1 year old. In most cases, the dog was owned by the victim’s family. In only 3 of the incidents was the dog reported to have been provoked by kicking, hitting, or having stones thrown at it. However, several incidents involved a child attempting to pet or hug the dog.[10]
In 6 of the incidents, there was no information available about the kind of dogs involved. In ten fatal attacks, the dogs were only described as “mixed-breed”.
Many involved large and powerful molosser breeds: eight Saint Bernards, six Bull terriers, six Great Danes, two Boxers and a Rottweiler. In contrast to the time period covered in other studies, the researchers FOUND NO FATAL ATTACKS ATTRIBUTED TO PIT BULLS AT ALL.
Spitz and primitive dogs committed a significant minority of the attacks, mostly sled dog breeds (nine Husky breeds and five Malamutes), one Chow Chow and a Basenji.
Fatal herding and working breed attacks numbered sixteen, twelve German Shepherd attacks, two collie attacks, and two involving a Doberman pinscher.
There were multiple retriever attacks, including three Golden Retrievers and a Labrador, and two attacks by very small breeds: one Dachshund, and one Yorkshire Terrier, which is among the smallest of all dogs.[10] <<<
ALL CAPS BY ME
Pit bull attacks in 1945, 1965, 1976, 1981 and after that, it starts becoming a regular occurrence and then around 2000 they’re definitely the predominate breed involved in fatal attacks.
I’ve said it here before because it’s something I’ve observed. In the 70s, it was German Shepherds, 80s - Dobermans - 90s Rottweilers. The list at wikipedia corroborates this.
So for a breed that’s been around for hundreds of years, why is it that they don’t become the predominate killer dog until around 2000? Because there’s 10 pit bulls for every doberman these days. Pit bulls are the latest breed of choice for tough guys, druggies and general jack asses now.
Outlaw pit bulls and they’ll find another breed.
Outlaw assault rifles and people will use shotguns.
Outlaw guns and people will use knives.
When you consider that FR people are supposed to believe in freedom, small government and personal responsibility and that we’re not the type to just make up our minds due to what the MSM puts out, you have to see the irony in those three statements?
It’s a rare thing for the MSM to show/tell who the owner of these pit bulls are, although they did show a white guy with tats all over his neck and head. magineThat. I’d bet half of the owners are Hispanic which id why the MSM won’t show them. Dog fighting is very popular in Ctrl and South America.
I’ll be glad to add you to the list. Mollie looks like a sweetie.
“””Pit bulls were bred for dog fights..for that reason alone. Period. NO other breed was bred for this.”””

Back in FL, our neighbor died and left her behind so we took her to make sure she didn’t end up with some a-hole. That and we knew we were moving to the boonies of MO. She’d never been socialized with any other animals but does just fine with dogs and cats now.
The previous owner’s kids said he used to have a game he played with his feet. Took a while but I figured it out. Must be wearing boots. Scoot my feet around, tap her toes and she goes nuts growling and nipping at my feet and ankles. Really vicious sounding but she never gets carried away. The cats get really big eyes when we play this game.
Prior to her, I had Chow Chows. Also cool dogs. Had a full blooded female that protected my buddy’s kids who she hadn’t seen in 4-5 years. My neighbor’s dobie/shepherd mix got in their faces growling and bearing her teeth so my dog ran across the yard and kicked it’s ass even though it was twice her size. I shared a house with the kid’s and dad and had the dog at the time. They were just toddlers at that time but she remembered them. Supposed to be one man dogs but being female and having had one litter of pups gave her maternal instincts which included those kids I guess.
LOL!
That’s just the stuff Hrafi has *downstairs*.
There are huge yard bags full of toys awaiting washing, upstairs.
He also has a toy box from which he takes out and puts in, as mood strikes him.
He also uses the toy box to hide *my* stuff he’s snagged and partial bowls of food he wants to hide from the girls.
:)
OMG.
Ol’ Roy was one of the dog foods found to have euthanized DOGS in it.
People’s dogs were adversely reacting [some even dying] to the barbiturates used for euthanization.
It was a horrorshow back when it happened.
Holy carp.
It’s still happening.

One ingredient [deadly] from China is Menadione.
Purina is LOADED with it, as are some other “popular” brands.
Look for an avoid menadione.
