Perkins Coie defended every case attacking 0b0la’s lack of b.cert and related cases. Every one, IIRC. And one case in, IIRC, San Diego, at the first hearing the judge said (paraphrasing obviously), ‘Let’s hear the case” and at the next court date changed his mind. He had hired a Perkins Coie assistant. We thought at the time (on FR) that the PC guy had been forced on him with a message he could not ignore. Judge was former Marine and a good guy.

If I’d heard about that at the time, I would have thought he was threatened. That’s still the most likely explanation. But now, I am wondering if he might have been contacted by a different person and told “It’s not time yet.”
